In general, here are the steps required to setup an account with SSL.

1. Purchase the certificate
2. Select the SSL/TLS Manager from the security section of the hosting account cPanel
3. Select "Generate, view, upload, or delete your private keys"
4. Choose the appropriate option to get the private key established. The most common scenario is to "Generate a New Key". Enter or select the domain, leave the key size at 1024, and press "Generate".
5. Select "Return to SSL Manager" at the bottom of the screen.
6. Select "Generate, view, or delete SSL certificate signing requests"  
7. Now you need to generate the CSR. Select the domain, and fill in the information requested accurately. Select "Generate".
   
8. Once the CSR is generated, you will see a window with content that looks like the following. This is the CSR.

9. Provide the CSR to the SSL registration authority. Typically they will want you to provide the CSR as a text file, or paste the CSR into a form on their web page.
   
10. When you receive the Certificate from the registration authority, go to the SSL/TLS Manager and select "Generate, view, upload, or delete SSL certificates", paste the certificate (crt), and select Upload.
